【KJV】What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
【NIV】What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
【BBE】What may we say, then? are we to go on in sin so that there may be more grace?
【ASV】What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

【KJV】God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
【NIV】By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
【BBE】In no way. How may we, who are dead to sin, be living in it any longer?
【ASV】God forbid. We who died to sin, how shall we any longer live therein?

【KJV】Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
【NIV】Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
【BBE】Or are you without the knowledge that all we who had baptism into Christ Jesus, had baptism into his death?
【ASV】Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

【KJV】Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
【NIV】We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
【BBE】We have been placed with him among the dead through baptism into death: so that as Christ came again from the dead by the glory of the Father, we, in the same way, might be living in new life.
【ASV】We were buried therefore with him through baptism unto death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

5【和合本】我们若在他死的形状上与他联合,也要在他复活的形状上与他联合;

【当代版】       如果我们和基督一同死,也就与祂一同复活;

【KJV】For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
【NIV】If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
【BBE】For, if we have been made like him in his death, we will, in the same way, be like him in his coming to life again;
【ASV】For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection;

6【和合本】因为知道我们的旧人和他同钉十字架,使罪身灭绝,叫我们不再作罪的奴仆;

【吕振中】因为知道我们的旧人已经和他同钉十字架,使罪的身体无能为力,叫我们不再给罪做奴仆;

【KJV】Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
【NIV】For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--
【BBE】Being conscious that our old man was put to death on the cross with him, so that the body of sin might be put away, and we might no longer be servants to sin.
【ASV】knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;

【KJV】For he that is dead is freed from sin.
【NIV】because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
【BBE】Because he who is dead is free from sin.
【ASV】for he that hath died is justified from sin.

【KJV】Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
【NIV】Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
【BBE】But if we are dead with Christ, we have faith that we will be living with him;
【ASV】But if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him;

【KJV】Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
【NIV】For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.
【BBE】Having knowledge that because Christ has come back from the dead, he will never again go down to the dead; death has no more power over him.
【ASV】knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death no more hath dominion over him.

【KJV】For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
【NIV】The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
【BBE】For his death was a death to sin, but his life now is a life which he is living to God.
【ASV】For the death that he died, he died unto sin once: but the life that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

【KJV】Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
【NIV】In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
【BBE】Even so see yourselves as dead to sin, but living to God in Christ Jesus.
【ASV】Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus.

【当代版】       所以,千万不要让罪辖制你们这个终必要死的身体,使你们顺从身体的肉欲而生活;

【KJV】Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
【NIV】Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
【BBE】For this cause do not let sin be ruling in your body which is under the power of death, so that you give way to its desires;
【ASV】Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof:

【吕振中】也不可将你们的肢体献给罪、做不义的工具。却要将自己献给上帝,像从死人中起来而活着,将你们的肢体献给上帝、做义的工具;

【KJV】Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
【NIV】Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.
【BBE】And do not give your bodies to sin as the instruments of wrongdoing, but give yourselves to God, as those who are living from the dead, and your bodies as instruments of righteousness to God.
【ASV】neither present your members unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

【KJV】For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
【NIV】For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
【BBE】For sin may not have rule over you: because you are not under law, but under grace.
【ASV】For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.

【KJV】What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
【NIV】What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
【BBE】What then? are we to go on in sin because we are not under law but under grace? Let it not be so.
【ASV】What then? shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? God forbid.

【KJV】Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
【NIV】Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
【BBE】Are you not conscious that you are the servants of him to whom you give yourselves to do his desire? if to sin, the end being death, or if to do the desire of God, the end being righteousness.
【ASV】Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves as servants unto obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

【KJV】But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
【NIV】But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
【BBE】But praise be to God that though you were the servants of sin, you have now given yourselves freely to that form of teaching under which you were placed;
【ASV】But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto ye were delivered;

【KJV】Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
【NIV】You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
【BBE】And being made free from sin you have been made the servants of righteousness.
【ASV】and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness.

【KJV】I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
【NIV】I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
【BBE】I am using words in the way of men, because your flesh is feeble: as you gave your bodies as servants to what is unclean, and to evil to do evil, so now give them as servants to righteousness to do what is holy.
【ASV】I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness unto sanctification.

【思高本】当你们作罪恶的奴隶时,不受正义的束缚;

【KJV】For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
【NIV】When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.
【BBE】When you were servants of sin you were free from righteousness.
【ASV】For when ye were servants of sin, ye were free in regard of righteousness.

【思高本】但那时你们得了什么效果?只是叫你们现在以那些事为可耻,因为其结局就是死亡;

【KJV】What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
【NIV】What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!
【BBE】What fruit had you at that time in the things which are now a shame to you? for the end of such things is death.
【ASV】What fruit then had ye at that time in the things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

【KJV】But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
【NIV】But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
【BBE】But now, being free from sin, and having been made servants to God, you have your fruit in that which is holy, and the end is eternal life.
【ASV】But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life.

【KJV】For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
【NIV】For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
【BBE】For the reward of sin is death; but what God freely gives is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
【ASV】For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
