conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol;
and their conscience being weak is defiled.

this. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat such food
they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and since their
conscience is weak, it is defiled.
【BBE】Still, all men have not that
knowledge: but some, being used till now to the image, are conscious that they
are taking food which has been offered to the image; and because they are not
strong in the faith, their minds are troubled.

emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols?

that I will not cause him to fall.

of trouble to my brother, I will give up taking meat for ever, so that I may not
