finish in you the same grace also.

earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your
part.

knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in
this grace also.

speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us --see that
you also excel in this grace of giving.

【KJV】And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have
begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were
the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so.

this I give my opinion: for it is to your profit, who were the first to make a
start a year before, not only to do this, but to make clear that your minds were
more than ready to do it.
【ASV】And herein I give my judgment: for this is
expedient for you, who were the first to make a beginning a year ago, not only
to do, but also to will.
11【和合本】如今就当办成这事。既有愿做的心，也当照你们所有的去办成。

will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your
completion of it, according to your means.

complete; so that as you had a ready mind, you may give effect to it as you are
able.
【ASV】But now complete the doing also; that as there was the readiness
to will, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.

for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that
there may be equality:

they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there
will be equality,

things of which you have more than enough at the present time their need may be
helped, and that if you are in any need they may be a help to you in the same

with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same
