18:1 [cbb5] 大衛數點跟隨他的人、立千夫長百夫長率領他們。
    [kjv] And David numbered the people that were with him, and set captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds over them.

18:2 [cbb5] 大衛打發軍兵出戰、分為三隊、一隊在約押手下、一隊在洗魯雅的兒子約押兄弟亞比篩手下、一隊在迦特人以太手下。大衛對軍兵說、我必與你們一同出戰。
    [kjv] And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.

18:3 [cbb5] 軍兵卻說、你不可出戰、若是我們逃跑、敵人必不介意．我們陣亡一半、敵人也不介意．因為你一人強似我們萬人．你不如在城裡豫備幫助我們。
    [kjv] But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.

18:4 [cbb5] 王向他們說、你們以為怎樣好、我就怎樣行。於是王站在城門旁、軍兵或百或千的挨次出去了。
    [kjv] And the king said unto them, What seemeth you best I will do. And the king stood by the gate side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands.

18:5 [cbb5] 王囑咐約押、亞比篩、以太、說、你們要為我的緣故、寬待那少年人押沙龍。王為押沙龍囑咐眾將的話、兵都聽見了。
    [kjv] And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.
    [strongs] 6680 And commanded 4428 the king 3097 Joab 0000 and 0052 Abishai 0000 and 0863 Ittai 0559 saying, 0328 {Deal} gently 0328 for my sake 5288 with the young man 0053 with Absalom. 3605 And all 5971 the people 8085 heard 6680 when commanded 4428 the king 3605 all 8269 the officers 5921 about 1697 the matter of 0053 Absalom.
18:6 [cbb5] 兵就出到田野迎著以色列人、在以法蓮樹林裡交戰。
    [kjv] So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the wood of Ephraim;

18:7 [cbb5] 以色列人敗在大衛的僕人面前．那日陣亡的甚多、共有二萬人。
    [kjv] Where the people of Israel were slain before the servants of David, and there was there a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand men.

18:9 [cbb5] 押沙龍偶然遇見大衛的僕人。押沙龍騎著騾子、從大橡樹密枝底下經過、他的頭髮被樹枝繞住、就懸掛起來．所騎的騾子便離他去了。
    [kjv] And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.

    [kjv] And a certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.

18:11 [cbb5] 約押對報信的人說、你既看見他、為甚麼不將他打死、落在地上呢．你若打死他、我就賞你十舍客勒銀子、一條帶子。
    [kjv] And Joab said unto the man that told him, And, behold, thou sawest him, and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten shekels of silver, and a girdle.

18:12 [cbb5] 那人對約押說、我就是得你一千舍客勒銀子、我也不敢伸手害王的兒子．因為我們聽見王囑咐你和亞比篩並以太、說、你們要謹慎、不可害那少年人押沙龍。
    [kjv] And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.

18:13 [cbb5] 我若妄為害了他的性命、就是你自己也必與我為敵．原來無論何事、都瞞不過王。
    [kjv] Otherwise I should have wrought falsehood against mine own life: for there is no matter hid from the king, and thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against me.
    [strongs] 0518 Or 6213 I would have dealt 8276 against my soul 8367 falsely, 3605 for any 1697 matter 3808 not 2244 is hidden 4428 from the king, 0000 and you, 3320 you would set yourself 0000 against {me}.
18:14 [cbb5] 約押說、我不能與你留連。約押手拿三杆短槍、趁押沙龍在橡樹上還活著、就刺透他的心。
    [kjv] Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 3097 Joab, 3808 Not 3651 thus 3176 I will wait 6440 before you. 3947 And he took 7967 three 7626 darts 3027 in his hand 8628 and thrust them 3820 into the heart of 0053 Absalom 5750 while he 2416 {was} alive 3820 in the heart of 0424 the oak.
18:15 [cbb5] 給約押拿兵器的十個少年人圍繞押沙龍、將他殺死。
    [kjv] And ten young men that bare Joab's armour compassed about and smote Absalom, and slew him.
    [strongs] 5437 And surrounded 6235 ten 5288 young men 5375 carrying 3627 weapons 3097 Joab's, 5221 and they struck 0053 Absalom, 2026 and killed him.
18:16 [cbb5] 約押吹角、攔阻眾人、他們就回來、不再追趕以色列人。
    [kjv] And Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel: for Joab held back the people.
    [strongs] 5301 And blew 3097 Joab 3104 the ram's horn 7725 and returned 5971 the people 7291 from pursuing 0310 after 3478 Israel, 3588 for 2820 had restrained 3097 Joab 5971 the people.
18:17 [cbb5] 他們將押沙龍丟在林中一個大坑裡、上頭堆起一大堆石頭．以色列眾人都逃跑、各回各家去了。
    [kjv] And they took Absalom, and cast him into a great pit in the wood, and laid a very great heap of stones upon him: and all Israel fled every one to his tent.

18:18 [cbb5] 押沙龍活著的時候、在王谷立了一根石柱．因他說、我沒有兒子為我留名．他就以自己的名、稱那石柱、叫押沙龍柱、直到今日。
    [kjv] Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a pillar, which is in the king's dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absalom's place.

18:19 [cbb5] 撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯說、容我跑去、將耶和華向仇敵給王報仇的信息報與王知。
    [kjv] Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies.
    [strongs] 0290 And Ahimaaz, 1121 the son of 6659 Zadok 0559 said, 7323 Let me run 4994 now, 1319 and I will bring news {to} 4428 the king, 8199 for has vindicated him 3068 Yahweh 3027 from the hand of 0341 his enemies.
18:20 [cbb5] 約押對他說、你今日不可去報信、改日可以報信、因為今日王的兒子死了、所以你不可去報信。
    [kjv] And Joab said unto him, Thou shalt not bear tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day: but this day thou shalt bear no tidings, because the king's son is dead.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 0000 to him 3097 Joab, 3808 Not 0376 a man of 1319 news 0000 {are} you 3117 day 0000 this, 1319 but you will bring news 3117 on day 0312 another. 3117 But day 0000 this 3808 not 1309 you will bring news 0000 because 1121 the son 4428 king's 4191 is dead.
18:21 [cbb5] 約押對古示人說、你去將你所看見的告訴王。古示人在約押面前下拜、就跑去了。
    [kjv] Then said Joab to Cushi, Go tell the king what thou hast seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab, and ran.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 3097 Joab 3569 to Cushi, 1980 Go, 5046 tell 4428 the king 0834 that which 7200 you have seen. 7812 And bowed himself 3569 Cushi 3097 to Joab 7323 and ran.
18:22 [cbb5] 撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯又對約押說、無論怎樣、求你容我隨著．古示人跑去。約押說、我兒、你報這信息、既不得賞賜、何必要跑去呢。
    [kjv] Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?
    [strongs] 3254 And again 5750 yet 0290 Ahimaaz 1121 the son of 6659 Zadok 0559 said 0413 to 3097 Joab, 1961 may be 4100 Whatever, 7323 let me run 4994 please 1571 also 0589 I, 0310 after 3569 the Cushite. 0559 And said 3097 Joab, 4100 Why 2088 this, 0859 {that} you 7323 should run, 1121 my son, 0000 when for you 0369 there is no 1319 news 4672 found?
18:23 [cbb5] 他又說、無論怎樣、我要跑去。約押說、你跑去罷。亞希瑪斯就從平原往前跑、跑過古示人去了。
    [kjv] But howsoever, said he, let me run. And he said unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi.
    [strongs] 1961 And may be 4100 whatever 7323 let me run. 0559 And he said 0000 to him, 6805 Run. 7323 And ran 0290 Ahimaaz 1870 the way of 3603 the circuit 5674 and passed by 3569 the Cushite.
18:24 [cbb5] 大衛正坐在城甕裡．守望的人上城門樓的頂上、舉目觀看、見有一個人獨自跑來。
    [kjv] And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.
    [strongs] 1732 And David 3427 was sitting 0996 between 8147 two 8179 the gates, 1980 and went 6822 the watchman 0000 to 1406 the roof of 8179 the gate, 0000 to 7023 the wall, 5375 and lifted up 5869 his eyes 7200 and looked. 2009 And look, 0376 a man 7323 running 0000 by himself.
18:25 [cbb5] 守望的人就大聲告訴王。王說、他若獨自來、必是報口信的。那人跑得漸漸近了。
    [kjv] And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth. And he came apace, and drew near.
    [strongs] 7121 And called 6822 the watchman 5046 and told {it} 4428 to the king, 0559 and said 4428 the king, 0518 If 0905 by himself, 1309 tidings {are} 6310 in his mouth. 3212 And he came, 1980 coming on 7131 and drawing near.
18:26 [cbb5] 守望的人又見一人跑來、就對守城門的人說、又有一人獨自跑來。王說、這也必是報信的。
    [kjv] And the watchman saw another man running: and the watchman called unto the porter, and said, Behold another man running alone. And the king said, He also bringeth tidings.
    [strongs] 7200 And saw 6822 the watchman 0376 man 0312 another 7323 running, 7121 and called 6822 the watchman 0000 to 7778 the gatekeeper 0559 and said, 2009 Look, 0376 a man 7323 running 0000 by himself! 0559 And said 4428 the king, 1571 Also 0000 this one 1319 {is} carrying tidings.
18:27 [cbb5] 守望的人說、我看前頭人的跑法好像撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯的跑法一樣。王說、他是個好人、必是報好信息。
    [kjv] And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 6822 the watchman, 0589 I 7200 see 4794 the running of 0259 the first 4794 as the running of 0290 Ahimaaz 1121 the son of 6659 Zadok. 0559 And said 4428 the king, 0376 a man 2896 good 2988 {is} This, 0000 and with 1319 news 2896 good 0935 he comes.
18:28 [cbb5] 亞希瑪斯向王呼叫、說、平安了．就在王面前臉伏於地、叩拜、說、耶和華你的　神是應當稱頌的、因他已將那舉手攻擊我主我王的人交給王了。
    [kjv] And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
    [strongs] 7121 And called 0290 Ahimaaz 0559 and said 0413 to 4428 the king, 7965 Peace! 7812 And he bowed himself 4428 to the king 6440 on his face 0776 to the earth, 0559 and said, 1288 Blessed {be} 3068 Yahweh 0430 your God 0834 who 5462 has shut up 0376 the men 0834 who 5375 lifted up 3027 their hand 0113 against my lord 4428 the king.
18:29 [cbb5] 王問說、少年人押沙龍平安不平安。亞希瑪斯回答說、約押打發王的僕人、那時僕人聽見眾民大聲諠譁、卻不知道是甚麼事。
    [kjv] And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king's servant, and me thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what it was.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 4428 the king, 7965 Peace 5288 to the young man 0053 to Absalom? 0559 And said 0290 Ahimaaz, 7200 I saw 1995 the tumult 1419 great, 7971 when sent 5650 the servant 4428 king's 3097 Joab, 1571 even 5650 your servant 3808 but not 3045 I do know 4100 what.
18:30 [cbb5] 王說、你退去、站在旁邊。他就退去、站在旁邊。
    [kjv] And the king said unto him, Turn aside, and stand here. And he turned aside, and stood still.

18:31 [cbb5] 古示人也來到、說、有信息報給我主我王．耶和華今日向一切興起攻擊你的人給你報仇了。
    [kjv] And, behold, Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the LORD hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.
    [strongs] 2009 And look 3569 the Cushite 0935 had come. 0559 And said the 3569 Cushite, 1319 {Good} news, 0113 my lord, 4428 O king! 3588 For 8199 has vindicated you 3068 Yahweh 3117 today 3027 out of the hand of 3605 all 6965 those rising up 5921 against you.
18:32 [cbb5] 王問古示人說、少年人押沙龍平安不平安。古示人回答說、願我主我王的仇敵、和一切興起要殺害你的人、都與那少年人一樣。
    [kjv] And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 4428 the king 0000 to 3569 the Cushite, 7965 Peace 5288 to the young man, 0053 to Absalom? 0559 And said 3569 the Cushite, 1961 Let them be 5288 as the young man, 0341 the enemies of 0113 my lord, 4428 the king, 3605 and all 0834 who 6965 have risen up 5921 against you 7451 for harm.
18:33 [cbb5] 王就心裡傷慟、上城門樓去哀哭、一面走、一面說、我兒押沙龍阿、我兒、我兒押沙龍阿．我恨不得替你死．押沙龍阿、我兒、我兒。
    [kjv] And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!
