1:1 [cbb5] 猶大王約雅敬在位第三年、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來到耶路撒冷、將城圍困。
    [kjv] In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
    [strongs] 8141 In the year 7992 third 4438 of the rule of 3079 Jehoiakim, 4428 king of 3063 Judah, 0935 came 5019 Nebuchadnezzar, 4428 king of 0894 Babylon, 3389 {to} Jerusalem 6696 and beseiged 1961 it.
1:2 [cbb5] 主將猶大王約雅敬、並　神殿中器皿的幾分交付他手、他就把這器皿帶到示拿地、收入他神的廟裡、放在他神的庫中。
    [kjv] And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
    [strongs] 5414 And gave 0136 the Lord 3027 his hand 3079 Jehoiakim, 4428 king of 3063 Judah, 7417 with part of 3627 the containers from 1004 the house of 0430 God, 0935 and he carried them to 0776 the land of 8152 Shinar 1004 {to} the house of 0430 his god. 0000 And 3627 the containers 0935 he took into 1004 the house 5459 treasure of 0430 his god.
1:3 [cbb5] 王吩咐太監長亞施毘拿、從以色列人的宗室和貴冑中、帶進幾個人來、
    [kjv] And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
    [strongs] 0559 And said 4428 the king 0828 to Ashpenaz, 8269 the chief of 5631 his eunuchs, 3947 to bring 1121 of the sons of 3478 Israel, 2233 and of the seed 4410 royal, 0000 and of 7969 the 5081 nobles,
1:4 [cbb5] 就是年少沒有殘疾、相貌俊美、通達各樣學問、知識聰明俱備、足能侍立在王宮裡的、要教他們迦勒底的文字言語。
    [kjv] Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
    [strongs] 5288 young men 0834 {in} whom 0669 not was 2004 in them 3605 any 3971 blemish, 2698 but good of 7200 look 7919 and having understanding 3605 in all 2451 wisdom, 3045 having 1847 knowledge 0995 and understanding 4093 learning, 0834 even those 2428 {with} strength 2004 in them 5975 to stand 1964 in palace 4428 the king's, 3925 and to teach them 4385 the writing 3956 and the tongue of 3778 the Chaldeans.
1:5 [cbb5] 王派定將自己所用的膳、和所飲的酒、每日賜他們一分、養他們三年．滿了三年、好叫他們在王面前侍立。
    [kjv] And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
    [strongs] 5186 And set 0000 to them 4428 the king 2506 the portion of 3117 a day 3117 in its day 6598 from food 4428 the king's 3196 and the wine of 4960 his drinking, 1430 and to raise them 8141 years 7967 three 7117 so that at their conclusion 5975 they may stand 6440 in the presence of 4428 the king.
1:6 [cbb5] 他們中間有猶大族的人、但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅．
    [kjv] Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
    [strongs] 1961 And were 0000 among them 1121 of the sons of 3063 Judah: 1840 Daniel, 2608 Hananiah, 4332 Mishael 5838 and Azariah,
1:7 [cbb5] 太監長給他們起名、稱但以理為伯提沙撒、稱哈拿尼雅為沙得拉、稱米沙利為米煞、稱亞撒利雅為亞伯尼歌。
    [kjv] Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
    [strongs] 7760 and assigned 0000 for them 8269 the chief of 5631 the eunuchs 8034 names. 7760 And he assigned 1840 for Daniel, 1095 Belteshazzar. 2608 And for Hananiah, 7714 Shadrach. 4332 And for Mishael, 4335 Meshach. 5838 And for Azariah, 5664 Abednego.
1:8 [cbb5] 但以理卻立志、不以王的膳、和王所飲的酒、玷污自己、所以求太監長容他不玷污自己。
    [kjv] But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
    [strongs] 7760 But laid 1840 Daniel 5921 upon 3820 his heart 0000 that 3808 not 1351 he would defile himself 6598 with food 4428 the king's, 3196 or the wine of 4960 his drinking. 1245 So he sought 8269 of the chief of 5631 the eunuchs 0000 that 3808 not 1351 he might defile himself.
1:9 [cbb5] 　神使但以理在太監長眼前蒙恩惠、受憐憫．
    [kjv] Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
    [strongs] 5414 Now had given 0430 God 1840 Daniel 2617 kindness 7356 and compassion 6440 in front of 8269 the chief of 5631 the eunuchs.
1:10 [cbb5] 太監長對但以理說、我懼怕我主我王、他巳經派定你們的飲食．倘若他見你們的面貌、比你們同歲的少年人肌瘦、怎麼好呢、這樣、你們就使我的頭在王那裡難保。
    [kjv] And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 8269 the chief of 5631 the eunuchs 1840 to Daniel, 3372 respect 0589 I 0113 my lord, 4428 the king, 0000 who 6485 has appointed 0400 your food 0000 and 4960 your drink. 0000 For 4100 why 7200 should he see 6440 your faces 2196 worse looking 3605 than 5288 the boys 0000 who {are} 1524 as your age? 0310 Then 2325 you would forfeit 7218 my head 4428 to the king!
1:11 [cbb5] 但以理對太監長所派管理但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅的委辦說、
    [kjv] Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
    [strongs] 0559 Then said 1840 Daniel 0000 to 6496 the overseer, 0834 whom 6485 he had appointed 8269 the chief of 5631 the eunuchs 5921 over 1840 Daniel, 2608 Hananiah, 4332 Mishael, 5838 and Azariah,
1:12 [cbb5] 求你試試僕人們十天、給我們素菜喫、白水喝、
    [kjv] Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.
    [strongs] 5254 test 4994 Please 5650 your servants 3117 days 6235 ten, 5414 and let be given 0000 to us 0000 {some} of 2235 the vegetables 0398 that we may eat, 4325 and water 8354 that we may drink.
1:13 [cbb5] 然後看看我們的面貌、和用王膳那少年人的面貌．就照你所看的待僕人罷。
    [kjv] Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.
    [strongs] 7200 Then let be seen 6440 in front of you 7200 our look 4758 and the look of 5288 the boys 0398 who eat 4202 food 4428 the king's. 0000 And as 7200 you see, 6213 deal 0000 with 5650 your servants.
1:14 [cbb5] 委辦便允准他們這件事、試看他們十天。
    [kjv] So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.
    [strongs] 8085 So he listened 0000 to them 1679 in matter 0000 this, 5254 and tested them 3117 days 6235 ten.
1:15 [cbb5] 過了十天、見他們的面貌、比用王膳的一切少年人更加俊美肥胖．
    [kjv] And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.
    [strongs] 7093 And at the end of 3117 days 6235 ten, 7200 looked 4758 their appearance 2896 better 1277 and fatter of 1320 flesh 3605 than all 5288 the boys 0398 who were eating 4202 food 4428 the king's.
1:16 [cbb5] 於是委辦撤去他們用的膳、飲的酒、給他們素菜喫。
    [kjv] Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.
    [strongs] 0000 So 6496 the overseer 5493 took away 0400 their food 3196 and the wine of 4960 their drinks, 5414 and he gave 0000 to them 2235 vegetables.
1:17 [cbb5] 這四個少年人、　神在各樣文字學問上、〔學問原文作智慧〕賜給他們聰明知識．但以理又明白各樣的異象和夢兆。
    [kjv] As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
    [strongs] 3206 And as for boys 0000 these 0702 four, 5414 gave 0000 to them 0430 God 1847 knowledge 7919 and insight 3605 in all 3789 writing 2451 and wisdom. 1840 But Daniel 0995 had skill 3605 in all 2377 visions 2472 and dreams.
1:18 [cbb5] 尼布甲尼撒王豫定帶進少年人來的日期滿了、太監長就把他們帶到王面前。
    [kjv] Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
    [strongs] 7117 Now at the end of 3117 the days, 2009 when 0559 had said 4428 the king 0935 to bring them in, 0935 then brought them 8269 the chief of 5631 the eunuchs 6440 in front of 5019 Nebuchadnezzar.
1:19 [cbb5] 王與他們談論、見少年人中、無一人能比但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅、所以留他們在王面前侍立。
    [kjv] And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.
    [strongs] 1696 And spoke 0000 with them 4428 the king, 0369 but none 4672 was found 3605 among them all 1840 like Daniel, 2608 Hananiah, 4332 Mishael 5838 and Azariah, 5975 so they stood 6440 in the presence of 4428 the king.
1:20 [cbb5] 王考問他們一切事、就見他們的智慧聰明、比通國的術士、和用法術的、勝過十偣。
    [kjv] And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
    [strongs] 3605 And any 1697 matter of 2451 wisdom {or} 0998 understanding 0000 that 1245 sought 0000 from them 4428 the king, 4672 he found them 6235 ten 4489 times 5921 better than 3605 all 2748 the astrologers 0825 {and} the conjurers 0000 who {were} 3605 in all 4467 his kingdom.
1:21 [cbb5] 到古列王元年、但以理還在。
    [kjv] And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.
    [strongs] 3254 And continued 1840 Daniel 5704 until 8141 the year 7223 first 3566 of Cyrus 4428 the king.
