8:1 [cbb5] 耶和華對約書亞說、不要懼怕、也不要驚惶．你起來率領一切兵丁、上艾城去．我已經把艾城的王、和他的民、他的城、並他的地、都交在你手裡。
    [kjv] And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:
    [strongs] 0559 And said 3068 Yahweh 0413 to 3091 Joshua, 0408 not 3372 Do fear, 0408 and not 2865 be afraid. 3947 Take 0000 with you 3605 all 5971 the people of 4421 war, 6965 and arise. 1980 go to 5857 to Ai. 2233 Look, 5414 I have given your 3027 into hand 4428 of the king 5857 Ai, 0000 and 5971 his people, 0000 and 5892 his city, 0000 and 0776 his land.
8:2 [cbb5] 你怎樣待耶利哥、和耶利哥的王、也當照樣待艾城、和艾城的王．只是城內所奪的財物、和牲畜、你們可以取為自己的掠物．你要在城後設下伏兵。
    [kjv] And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it.
    [strongs] 6213 And you will do 5857 to Ai 4428 and to its king 0000 as 6213 you have done 3405 to Jericho 4428 and its king. 7535 Only 7998 its plunder 0929 and its cattle 3947 you will take 0000 for you. 5344 Set 0000 yourself 0693 an ambush 5892 because the city 0310 behind it.
8:3 [cbb5] 於是約書亞、和一切兵丁、都起來、要上艾城去．約書亞選了三萬大能的勇士、夜間打發他們前往．
    [kjv] So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and sent them away by night.
    [strongs] 6965 And arose 3091 Joshua 3605 and all 5971 the people of 4421 war 5927 to go up to 5857 Ai. 0977 And chose 3091 Joshua 7970 thirty 0505 thousand 0376 men, 1368 warriors 2428 strong, 7971 and sent them away 3915 by night
8:4 [cbb5] 吩咐他們說、你們要在城後埋伏．不可離城太遠、都要各自準備。
    [kjv] And he commanded them, saying, Behold, ye shall lie in wait against the city, even behind the city: go not very far from the city, but be ye all ready:
    [strongs] 6680 and ordered 0853 them, 0559 saying, 7200 Look, 0859 you {will be} 0693 an ambush 5892 against the city, 0310 behind 5892 the city; 0408 not 7368 you will go far away 4480 from 5892 the city 3966 very, 1961 and will be 3605 all of you 3559 prepared.
8:5 [cbb5] 我與我所帶領的眾民、要向城前往．城裡的人像初次出來攻擊我們的時候、我們就在他們面前逃跑．
    [kjv] And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will flee before them,
    [strongs] 0589 And I 3605 and all 5971 the people 0834 who {are} 0854 with me 7126 will draw near 0413 to 5892 the city. 1961 And it will be, 3588 when 3318 they come out 7125 to meet us 0834 as 7223 at the first, 5127 then we will run away from 6440 in front of them.
8:6 [cbb5] 他們必出來追趕我們、直到我們引誘他們離開城．因為他們必說、這些人像初次在我們面前逃跑．所以我們要在他們面前逃跑．
    [kjv] (For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They flee before us, as at the first: therefore we will flee before them.
    [strongs] 3318 And they will come 0310 after us 5704 until 5423 we have drawn 0000 them 4480 out of 5892 the city, 0000 because 0559 they will say, 5127 They {are} running away from 6440 in front of us 0000 as 7223 at the first. 5127 So we will flee 0000 from them.
8:7 [cbb5] 你們就從埋伏的地方起來、奪取那城．因為耶和華你們的　神、必把城交在你們手裡。
    [kjv] Then ye shall rise up from the ambush, and seize upon the city: for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand.
    [strongs] 0000 Then you 2724 will rise 0693 from the ambush 3423 and will occupy 5892 the city. 5414 And will give it 3068 Yahweh 0430 your God 3027 into your hand.
8:8 [cbb5] 你們奪了城以後、就放火燒城．要照耶和華的話行．這是我吩咐你們的。
    [kjv] And it shall be, when ye have taken the city, that ye shall set the city on fire: according to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you.
    [strongs] 1961 And it will be 3610 when you capture 5892 the city, 3341 {that} you will burn 5892 the city 0784 with fire, 1696 as said 3068 Yahweh 6213 you will do. 2233 Look, 6680 I have commanded 0000 you.
8:9 [cbb5] 約書亞打發他們前往．他們就上埋伏的地方去、住在伯特利和艾城的中間．就是在艾城的西邊．這夜約書亞卻在民中住宿。
    [kjv] Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that night among the people.
    [strongs] 7971 And sent them away 3091 Joshua 1980 and they went 0413 to 3993 the ambush, 3885 and stayed 0996 between 1008 Bethel 0000 and 5857 Ai, 3220 west of 5857 Ai, 3885 and stayed 3091 Joshua 3915 night 0000 that 8432 in the middle of 5971 the people.
8:10 [cbb5] 約書亞清早起來、點齊百姓、他和以色列的長老在百姓前面上艾城去。
    [kjv] And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and numbered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai.

    [kjv] And all the people, even the people of war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh, and came before the city, and pitched on the north side of Ai: now there was a valley between them and Ai.

    [kjv] And he took about five thousand men, and set them to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city.

8:13 [cbb5] 於是安置了百姓、就是城北的全軍、和城西的伏兵．這夜約書亞進入山谷之中。
    [kjv] And when they had set the people, even all the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley.

    [kjv] And it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw it, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he wist not that there were liers in ambush against him behind the city.
    [strongs] 1961 And it was, 7200 when saw 4428 the king 5857 of Ai, 4116 that hurried 7925 and rose early 5927 and went out 0376 the men of 5892 the city 7125 to meet 3478 Israel 4421 in battle, 0000 he 3605 and all 5971 his people, 4150 at the set time 6440 in front of 3603 the plain. 1931 But he 3808 not 3045 knew 0693 that an ambush {was} 0000 against him 0310 behind 5892 the city.
8:15 [cbb5] 約書亞和以色列眾人在他們面前裝敗、往那通曠野的路逃跑。
    [kjv] And Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.

8:16 [cbb5] 城內的眾民、都被招聚、追趕他們．艾城人追趕的時候、就被引誘離開城。
    [kjv] And all the people that were in Ai were called together to pursue after them: and they pursued after Joshua, and were drawn away from the city.
    [strongs] 2199 And were called 3605 all 5971 the people 0000 who {were} 5892 in the city 7291 to run 0310 after them. 7291 And they ran 0310 after 3091 Joshua 5423 and were drawn 4480 from 5892 the city.
8:17 [cbb5] 艾城、和伯特利城、沒有一人不出來追趕以色列人的、撇了敞開的城門、去追趕以色列人。
    [kjv] And there was not a man left in Ai or Bethel, that went not out after Israel: and they left the city open, and pursued after Israel.
    [strongs] 3808 And not 7604 was left 0376 a man 5857 in Ai 1008 or Bethel 0000 who 3318 not had gone out 0310 after 3478 Israel; 1980 and they left 5892 the city 6605 open 7323 and ran 0310 after 3478 Israel.
8:18 [cbb5] 耶和華吩咐約書亞說、你向艾城伸出手裡的短鎗、因為我要將城交在你手裡．約書亞就向城伸出手裡的短鎗。
    [kjv] And the LORD said unto Joshua, Stretch out the spear that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thine hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city.
    [strongs] 0559 And said 3068 Yahweh 0413 to 3091 Joshua, 5186 Stretch forth 3591 the javelin 0000 that {is} 3027 in your hand 5857 toward Ai, 0000 because 3027 into your hand 5414 I will give it. 5186 And stretched 3091 Joshua 3591 the javelin 0000 that {was} 3027 in his hand 0413 toward 5892 the city.
8:19 [cbb5] 他一伸手、伏兵就從埋伏的地方急忙起來、奪了城、跑進城去、放火焚燒。
    [kjv] And the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand: and they entered into the city, and took it, and hasted and set the city on fire.
    [strongs] 3993 And the ambush 6965 arose 4120 quickly 4725 from its place 7323 and ran 5186 as soon as he stretched 3027 his hand 0935 and entered 5892 the city 8610 and seized it. 4116 And they hurried 1197 and burned 5892 the city 0784 with fire.

    [kjv] And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.
    [strongs] 6437 And turned 0376 the men of 5857 Ai 0310 behind them 7200 and looked. 2009 And, look, 5927 was rising 7008 the smoke of 5892 the city 8064 into the sky; 3808 and not 1961 there was 0000 in them 3027 power 5127 to escape 2008 here 0575 or there, 5971 and the people 5127 who had run away 4057 toward the desert 2015 turned back 0413 against 7291 the pursuers.
8:21 [cbb5] 約書亞和以色列眾人見伏兵已經奪了城、城中煙氣飛騰、就轉身回去、擊殺艾城的人。
    [kjv] And when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended, then they turned again, and slew the men of Ai.
    [strongs] 3091 And Joshua 3605 and all 3478 Israel 7200 saw 0000 that 3920 had captured 3993 the ambush 5892 the city, 0000 and that 5927 was rising 7008 the smoke of 5892 the city 7725 and they turned 5221 and struck 0376 the man of 5857 Ai.
8:22 [cbb5] 伏兵也出城迎擊艾城人．艾城人就困在以色列人中間、前後都是以色列人．於是以色列人擊殺他們、沒有留下一個、也沒有一個逃脫的．
    [kjv] And the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or escape.
    [strongs] 0428 And the others 3318 came out 4480 of 5892 the city 7125 to meet them, 1961 and they were 3478 of Israel 8432 in the middle. 0428 These 2088 on this 0428 and those 2088 on that. 5221 And they struck 0000 them 5704 until 1115 not 7604 was left 0000 to them 7611 a remnant 6412 nor an escape.
8:23 [cbb5] 生擒了艾城的王、將他解到約書亞那裡。
    [kjv] And the king of Ai they took alive, and brought him to Joshua.

8:24 [cbb5] 以色列人在田間和曠野殺盡所追趕一切艾城的居民．艾城人倒在刀下、直到滅盡、以色列眾人就回到艾城、用刀殺了城中的人。
    [kjv] And it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.
    [strongs] 1961 And it was, 3615 when made an end 3478 Israel 2026 of killing 3605 all the 3427 natives of 5857 Ai 7704 in the field 4057 in the desert, 0834 where 1291 they pursued them 6256 in, 5307 and had fallen 3605 of all them 6310 by edge 2719 the sword's 5704 until 8552 they were annihilated, 7725 turned back 3605 all 3478 Israel 5857 to Ai 5221 and struck 0000 it 6310 with edge 2719 the sword's.
8:25 [cbb5] 當日殺斃的人、連男帶女、共有一萬二千、就是艾城所有的人。
    [kjv] And so it was, that all that fell that day, both of men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Ai.
    [strongs] 1961 And were 3605 all 0307 who fell 3117 day 1931 that 0376 from men 5704 to even 0802 women, 8147 twelve 6240 - 0505 thousand, 3605 all 0376 the men of 5857 Ai.
8:26 [cbb5] 約書亞沒有收回手裡所伸出來的短鎗、直到把艾城的一切居民、盡行殺滅。
    [kjv] For Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.
    [strongs] 3091 And Joshua 3808 not 7725 did draw back 3027 his hand 0834 {in} which 7971 he had put out 3591 the javelin 5704 until 2763 he had destroyed 3605 all 3427 the natives of 5857 Ai.
8:27 [cbb5] 惟獨城中的牲畜、和財物、以色列人都取為自己的掠物、是照耶和華所吩咐約書亞的話。
    [kjv] Only the cattle and the spoil of that city Israel took for a prey unto themselves, according unto the word of the LORD which he commanded Joshua.
    [strongs] 7535 Only, 0929 the cattle 7998 and the plunder of 5892 city 1931 that 3423 seized 0000 for themselves 3478 Israel, 1697 according to word 3068 Yahweh's 0834 which 6680 He commanded 3091 Joshua.
8:28 [cbb5] 約書亞將艾城焚燒、使城永為高堆、荒場、直到今日。
    [kjv] And Joshua burnt Ai, and made it an heap for ever, even a desolation unto this day.

8:29 [cbb5] 又將艾城王掛在樹上、直到晚上。日落的時候、約書亞吩咐人把屍首從樹上取下來、丟在城門口、在屍首上堆成一大堆石頭、直存到今日。
    [kjv] And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.

    [kjv] Then Joshua built an altar unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal,

8:31 [cbb5] 是用沒有動過鐵器的整石頭築的、照著耶和華僕人摩西所吩咐以色列人的話、正如摩西律法書上所寫的．眾人在這壇上給耶和華奉獻燔祭、和平安祭。
    [kjv] As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings.

    [kjv] And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.

8:33 [cbb5] 以色列眾人、無論是本地人、是寄居的、和長老、官長、並審判官、都站在約櫃兩旁、在抬耶和華約櫃的祭司利未人面前、一半對著基利心山、一半對著以巴路山、為以色列民祝福、正如耶和華僕人摩西先前所吩咐的。
    [kjv] And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel.

8:34 [cbb5] 隨後約書亞將律法上祝福咒詛的話、照著律法書上一切所寫的、都宣讀了一遍。
    [kjv] And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law.

8:35 [cbb5] 摩西所吩咐的一切話、約書亞在以色列全會眾、和婦女、孩子、並他們中間寄居的外人面前、沒有一句不宣讀的。
    [kjv] There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.
