“你们若奉我的名求什么,我必成就”(约14:14)。{FH.40.1}
当时门徒还不了解救主无限的资源和能力。祂对他们说:“向来你们没有奉我的名求什么”(约16:24)。救主说明,他们成功的秘诀在于奉祂的名祈求力量和恩典。祂要亲自在父面前为他们请求,祂要以每一个谦卑恳求者的祈祷为祂自己的祈祷,替他在父面前代求。每一句诚恳的祈祷,必为上天所垂听,祷告的词句或许有欠通顺,但只要句句出自内心,就必上升到耶稣所服务的圣所之中。祂要将我们的祈祷献到天父面前,其中不再有一句结巴别扭的话,却要满载着祂那完美品格的美丽和芬芳。……{FH.40.2}
耶稣吩咐门徒要“奉我的名”祈求。跟从基督的人务要奉祂的名侍立在上帝面前。由于为他们付出之牺牲的代价,他们在主眼里是有价值的。……{FH.40.3}
当主的子民低估自己时,祂就感到很失望。上帝希望祂所拣选的子民,按照祂在他们身上所付出的代价来估量自己。上帝需要他们,不然,就不会差遣祂的儿子用这么大的代价来救赎他们。祂有使用他们之处;所以,当他们为荣耀上帝的名,向祂提出最高的要求时,祂是非常喜悦的。如果他们相信祂的应许,就可望成就大事。{FH.40.4}
然而奉基督的名祈求,还意味着我们要接受祂的品格,表现祂的精神,并作祂的工。救主的应许是有条件的,祂说:“你们若爱我,就必遵守我的命令”(约14:15)。祂救人,不是让人留在罪中,而是要救他们脱离罪恶。那些爱祂的人要以顺从来显明他们的爱心。{FH.40.5}
真正的顺从都是出自内心的。基督的顺从也是出自内心的。我们若愿意,祂就会使我们的思想与目的同祂一致,使我们的心思意念完全符合祂的旨意,以致当我们顺从祂的旨意时,也就等于是在履行自己的意愿。这样,我们的意志受了冶炼和圣化,就必以侍奉祂为最大的喜乐。——《评论与通讯》,1910年7月14日。{FH.40.6}
In My Name, January 28
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.?John 14:14.?{FH 40.1}[1]
The disciples were unacquainted with the Savior’s unlimited resources and power. He said to them, “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name.”?John 16:24. He explained that the secret of their success would be in asking for strength and grace in His name. He would be present before the Father to make requests for them. The prayer of the humble suppliant He presents as His own desire in that soul’s behalf. Every sincere prayer is heard in heaven. It may not be fluently expressed, but if the heart is in it, it will ascend to the sanctuary where Jesus ministers, and He will present it to the Father without one awkward, stammering word, beautiful and fragrant with the incense of His own perfection....?{FH 40.2}[2]
“In my name” Christ bade His disciples to pray. In Christ’s name His followers are to stand before God. Through the value of the sacrifice made for them, they are of value in the Lord’s sight....?{FH 40.3}[3]
The Lord is disappointed when His people place a low estimate upon themselves. He desires His chosen heritage to value themselves according to the price He has placed upon them. God wanted them, else He would not have sent His Son on such an expensive errand to redeem them. He has a use for them, and He is well pleased when they make the very highest demands upon Him, that they may glorify His name. They may expect large things if they have faith in His promises.?{FH 40.4}[4]
But to pray in Christ’s name means much. It means that we are to accept His character, manifest His spirit, and work His works. The Savior’s promise is given on condition. “If ye love me,” He says, “keep my commandments.” He saves us, not in sin, but from sin; and those who love Him will show their love by obedience.?{FH 40.5}[5]
All true obedience comes from the heart. It was heart-work with Christ. And if we consent, He will so identify Himself with our thoughts and aims, so blend our hearts and minds into conformity to His will, that when obeying Him we shall be but carrying out our own impulses. The will, refined and sanctified, will find its highest delight in doing His service.—The Review and Herald, July 14, 1910.?{FH 40.6}[6]
