		[niv]	because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.
		[asv]	how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we showed ourselves toward you for your sake.
		[jnd]	For our glad tidings were not with you in word only, but also in power, and in Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; even as ye know what we were among you for your sakes:
		[kjv]	For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

		[niv]	You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
		[asv]	And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit;

		[niv]	The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,
		[asv]	For from you hath sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith to God-ward is gone forth; so that we need not to speak anything.
		[jnd]	for the word of the Lord sounded out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith which towards God has gone abroad, so that we have no need to say anything;
		[kjv]	For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
