传道的家庭
凡有真理之光的人，如实行真理,就能为基督作更多的事。有许多人全家都可去做传道士，从事个人之工，以辛勤的双手和活跃的头脑为主劳力，并想出新的方法求得工作的成功。有许多认真、热心而又善于处事的男女，只要肯献身上帝，与祂亲近，全心全意地寻求祂，就能为基督做很多事。{PH005 12.1}
我的弟兄姐妹啊，你们在救人的工作上要积极主动。这种工作必能使你们灵性和心智的能力有生命和活力。来自基督的光，必照进你们的内心。救主要住在你们心里，在祂的光中，你们必得见光。{PH005 12.2}
不能代做
你们当完全献上身心，做上帝的工作。祂是你们的力量，必在你右边帮助你执行祂仁慈的计划。你要作个人之工，去感动周围的人，多与他们来往，多与他们相识。单靠讲道，不足以成就所应做成的工作。上帝的天使，必与你们同往所访之家。请人代做这种工作是不行的。单靠施舍或借贷金钱，作不成这项工作。证道也作不成这项工作。你们必须亲自去拜访人，同他们面谈，祈祷，用同情的态度去争取他们，才能得到人心。这就是你们所能做的最高尚的传道工作。要成功，少不了热烈的志向，坚忍的信心，持久的忍耐和深切的爱人之心。{PH005 12.3}
当设法与邻舍接近。与他们讲论真理时，宜用基督那样同情人的言语。须记得主耶稣是我们的大工师。祂会浇灌所撒的种子，把感人的言语放在你们心中。你们该料到上帝必扶助凡无私奉献的工人。顺从、像小孩子一般的信心、专靠上帝——这些会带来平安和快乐。须存大公无私的心、仁爱的心和忍耐的心，为凡与你们接触的人作工。不可表露不耐烦的情绪。不要说一句不友善的话。心里总要有基督的爱，口里总要有仁慈的律法。{PH005 12.4}
应有千百人作工的地方，现在只有一人，这真令人莫明其妙。天上的宇宙，看见一般自命为上帝儿女的人如此冷漠无情，不胜惊奇。在真理中有一种活泼的力量。你们当照着你们所信仰的出去宣扬真理，使你们作工的对象看出真理对于你们确为一种活泼的现实。(《教会证言》卷九40-42页){PH005 13.1}
救济物质需要
凡自称为祂子民的，必须效法基督的榜样。要先救济同胞物质上的需要，由于他们的感恩之念，就必拆除各种障碍，使你们能感动他们的心了。当切心考虑这事。因为就教会而论，你们已有机会与上帝同工了。你们若遵从了上帝的话，参加了这种工作，原会蒙福惠受鼓励，原会获得丰富的经验。你们原会发现自己已做了上帝的代理人，在热诚地提倡这拯救、恢复，和使人得救的计划。这种计划不是一成不变的，乃是恩上加恩，力上加力而逐步进展的。{PH005 13.2}
主已将城市中所要成就的工作指示我了。凡在这些城市中的信徒，须在其附近邻舍之间为上帝作工。他们须安静谦卑地作工，无论走到哪里，都要带有天国的气氛。如果他们把自我隐蔽不见，而总是指出基督来，别人就会感觉到他们的感化力。{PH005 13.3}
按照上帝的旨意，那撒播真理种子工作的最大部分，并不是要传道人担任。凡未蒙召在教会中担任传道工作的人，也应该各照自己的才能为主效劳。一个工人若能毫无保留地献身为主服务，就可得到一种经验，足以使他在主的工作上越作越有成效。那原来吸引他归向基督的感化力，也会帮助他吸引别人归向基督。(《教会证言》卷九127、128页){PH005 13.4}
妇女福音事工
妇女们也可以像男子一样地参加工作，将真理藏在那可能发生作用而且日后会显明出来的地方。在这危急之时，她们也能参加一份工作，并且主也要藉着她们作工。如果她们充满了责任感，并在上帝之灵的影响下努力，她们就会获得足以应付时代需要的镇定自若的精神。{PH005 14.1}
救主必将自己面上的荣光照射在这些克己牺牲的妇女身上，这样，就使她们有一种胜似男子的能力了。她们能在人们的家中，做一种男子所不能做的工作，一种达到内在生活的工作。她们能接近那些男子所不能接近之人的心。她们的工作是不可少的。凡是谨慎谦卑的妇女，都可从事在人们家中讲解真理的优良工作。上帝的道一经这样讲明之后，自会起其“发酵”的作用，而影响所及，全家的人就都归主了。(《教会证言》卷九128、129页){PH005 14.2}
我们姐妹的宝贵经验
我们许多承担家庭责任的姐妹，都愿意为自己不从事任何需要思想和密切应用头脑的宣教工作开脱;然而往往这才是她们所需要的训练，能使她们完善基督徒的经验。通过向邻舍分发正确代表我们信仰的小册子和报刊，并将这些无声的信使通过邮件寄给那些乐于阅读和研究的人，她们可以成为上帝的工人。当她们这样为别人做她们所能做的事情时，她们就会获得许多宝贵的经验。{PH005 14.3}
我的姐妹们哪，不要在分发我们的书刊上变得厌倦。这是一项你们若与上帝有联络就都可以成功从事的工作。在接近你们的朋友和邻舍，或写问询信之前，要在祷告中向上帝倾心。凡存谦卑的心参加这项工作的人，都要训练自己在主的葡萄园中作可蒙悦纳的工人。{PH005 14.4}
上帝呼召你

训练青年传道士
当教育儿女，使之愿意同情年长者与受苦者，并愿设法解除贫困不幸之人的痛苦。他们应受教殷勤从事于布道的工作;并且从幼年起，就当谆谆教导他们为谋他人福利而克己牺牲的原则，以便他们成为与上帝同工的人。(《教会证言》卷六429页){PH005 15.1}
你愿意帮助吗[?]
摆在我们面前的大工是什么?——是传扬福音及其拯救生命的原则给各国各族各方各民。但愿没有人因自己不能从事与上帝最有经验的仆人同样的工作，就无所事事。因为你不能处在最高地位，你就要无所事事吗?因为你不能用许多英镑作买卖，你就不肯用一英镑作买卖吗?因为你没有五千两，你就要将你那一千两包在布里藏在地里吗?因为你不能为大众作工，你就不肯为个人作工吗?要尽等着你去尽的较小的本分。这样你就会帮助那些负着沉重责任的人。{PH005 15.2}
要使用你的才干，即使你的才干很少。上帝确实给了你一项工作为祂去做。你做任何事的时候，都要始终将主耶稣摆在你面前。无论做什么都为荣耀祂的名而做。你属于上帝，你必须从事祂的工作。你的生命是由赐生命的主维持的。因此，你的每一能力都要用于祂的服务。藉着忠心聪明地使用你的才干，你就在获得能力去做更好的工作，负更重的责任。{PH005 15.3}

来自孩子和未受教育者的新兵
上帝要感动那些地位卑微的人去传扬现代真理的信息。许多这样的人要来往奔忙，在圣灵的驱策下，把光亮带给黑暗中的人。真理就像他们骨中的火焰，使他们满怀热望去照亮坐在黑暗中的人。许多人，甚至有些未受教育的人，将要传扬主的道。圣灵也要促使孩子去传天国的信息。顺服圣灵激励的人，圣灵要沛降在他们身上。他们要摆脱人束缚的规条，放弃过分小心的行动，加入主的军队。(《教会证言》卷七26、27页) PH005 16.1}
每天播种的机会
我的弟兄姐妹啊，要研究你们的计划;抓住每一机会去与亲朋邻里谈道，若有宣读含有现代真理书报的机会，总不可放过。当显出你们所认为首要的，就是基督曾为之作了莫大牺牲之人的得救问题。{PH005 16.2}
你们在为将亡之人作工之时，是有天使同在的。千千万万的天使正等待着要与我们各地教会的信徒合作，传播上帝所丰富赐下的亮光，好预备一班人迎接基督的复临。“现在正是悦纳的时候;现在正是拯救的日子”(林后6:2)。但愿每一个家庭都恳切地祈祷，求主帮助以从事祂的工作。{PH005 16.3}
不要越过小事，而去寻求大事。你们在小事上或者可以成功，但在图谋大事上，却会完全失败，以致灰心丧志。故此你们无论在何处见有应作之工，就该去做。不论贫富贵贱，上帝都召你们来为祂尽力服务。凡你们手所当作的事，都要尽力去作，这样，你们的才能和天赋就必发展。反之，如果你们忽略了日常的机会，就要变成不结果子以及枯干的了。上帝园中之所以有这么多不结果子的树，就是因为这个缘故。{PH005 16.4}
在自己的家中，在邻舍的炉边，在病人的榻旁，你们都可以安安静静地与人读经，表扬耶稣和真理。也许那宝贵的种子就会从此撒下，多日后竟发芽生长，结出果子来。(《教会证言》卷九129、130页){PH005 17.1}
充分教育的益处
我们在圣灵的管理之下，越充分地培养自己的智力，就越能有效地为上帝服务。一个没有受过教育的人如果献身给上帝，渴望造福他人，他是可以，而且事实上已经被主使用为祂服务的。但是怀有献身精神的人若受过充分的教育，就能为基督作更广泛的工作。他们处在优越的地位上。{PH005 17.2}
上帝希望我们得到一切能够得到的教育，以便能把自己的知识传授给别人。没有人知道自己会蒙召到什么地方，或怎样为上帝作工传道。惟有我们的天父知道祂能把人培养得如何。在我们前面，有我们软弱的信心所想不到的事。我们的心智应当受到培养，以便必要时能在世上最高的首长面前宣扬圣经的真理，荣耀主的名。我们绝不可坐失每一个培养智力为上帝作工的机会(《基督比喻实训》333、334页){PH005 17.3}
主的军队
上帝要预备人，包括小孩子，像祂对撒母耳那样，来为祂做工，成为祂的使者。祂从不打盹也不睡觉。祂看顾着每一个工人，为他选择做工的范围。全天庭都在观看上帝的仆人们在显然不利的环境所进行的斗争。当主的仆人们集结在他们救赎主的旗帜之下，前去为真道打美好的仗时，就能获得新的胜利，赢得新的荣誉。全体天使都乐意帮助谦卑信靠上帝的人;当上帝在地上的工人大军唱诗赞美的时候，天上的诗班也要加入，一同感恩，将颂赞归给上帝和祂的儿子。(《教会证言》卷七17页){PH005 17.4}
世界是一所培训学校

【Missionary Families】
Very much more might be done for Christ if all who have the light of truth would practice the truth. There are whole families who might be missionaries, engaging in personal labor, toiling for the Master with busy hands and active brains, devising new methods for the success of His work. There are earnest, prudent, warm-hearted men and women who could do much for Christ if they would give themselves to God, drawing near to Him, and seeking Him with the whole heart.?{PH005 12.1}[32]
My brethren and sisters, take an active part in the work of soul-saving. This work will give life and vigor to the mental and spiritual powers. Light from Christ will shine into the mind. The Saviour will abide in your hearts, and in His light you will see light.?{PH005 12.2}[33]
【Can Not be Done by Proxy】
Consecrate yourselves wholly to the work of God. He is your strength, and He will be at your right hand, helping you to carry on His merciful designs. By personal labor reach those around you. Become acquainted with them. Preaching will not do the work that needs to be done. Angels of God attend you to the dwellings of those you visit. This work can not be done by proxy. Money lent or given will not accomplish it. Sermons will not do it. By visiting the people, talking, praying, sympathizing with them, you will win hearts. This is the highest missionary work that you can do. To do it, you will need resolute, persevering faith, unwearying patience, and a deep love for souls.?{PH005 12.3}[34]
Find access to the people in whose neighborhood you live. As you tell them of the truth, use words of Christlike sympathy. Remember that the Lord Jesus is the Master-worker. He waters the seed sown. He puts into your minds words that will reach hearts. Expect that God will sustain the consecrated, unselfish worker. Obedience, childlike faith, trust in God,—these will bring peace and joy. Work disinterestedly, lovingly, patiently, for all with whom you are brought into contact. Show no impatience. Utter not one?unkind word. Let the love of Christ be in your hearts, the law of kindness on your lips.?{PH005 12.4}[35]
It is a mystery that there are not hundreds at work where now there is but one. The heavenly universe is astonished at the apathy, the coldness, the listlessness of those who profess to be sons and daughters of God. In the truth there is a living power. Go forth in faith, and proclaim the truth as if you believed it. Let those for whom you labor see that to you it is indeed a living reality.?Testimonies for the Church 9:40-42.?{PH005 13.1}[36]
【Relieve Physical Necessities】
Christ’s example must be followed by those who claim to be His children. Relieve the physical necessities of your fellow-men, and their gratitude will break down the barriers, and enable you to reach their hearts. Consider this matter earnestly. As churches, you have had opportunity to work as laborers together with God. Had you obeyed the word of God, had you entered upon this work, you would have been blessed and encouraged, and would have obtained a rich experience. You would have found yourselves, as the human agencies of God, earnestly advocating a scheme of saving, of restoration, of salvation. This scheme would not be fixed, but progressive, moving on from grace to grace, and from strength to strength.?{PH005 13.2}[37]
The Lord has presented before me the work that is to be done in our cities. The believers in these cities are to work for God in the neighborhood of their homes. They are to labor quietly and in humility, carrying with them wherever they go the atmosphere of heaven. If they keep self out of sight, pointing always to Christ, the power of their influence will be felt.?{PH005 13.3}[38]
It is not the Lord’s purpose that ministers should be left to do the greatest part of the work of sowing the seeds of truth. Men who are not called to the ministry are to labor for their Master according to their several ability. As a worker gives himself unreservedly to the service of the Lord, he gains an experience that enables him to work more and more successfully for the Master. The influence that drew him to Christ helps him to draw others to Christ.?Testimonies for the Church 9:127, 128.?{PH005 13.4}[39]
【Gospel Work for Women】
Women as well as men can engage in the work of hiding the truth where it can work out and be made manifest. They can take their place in the work at this crisis, and the Lord will work through them. If they are imbued with a sense of their duty, and labor under the influence of the Spirit of God, they will have just the self-possession required for this time.?{PH005 14.1}[40]
The Saviour will reflect upon these self-sacrificing women the light of His countenance, and this will give them a power that will exceed that of man. They can do in families a work that men can not do, a work that reaches the inner life They can come close to the hearts of those whom men can not reach. Their work is needed. Discreet and humble women can do a good work in explaining the truth to the people in their homes. The word of God thus explained will do its leavening work, and through its influence whole families will be converted.?Testimonies for the Church 9:128, 129.?{PH005 14.2}[41]
【A Precious Experience for Our Sisters】
Many of our sisters who bear the burden of home responsibilities have been willing to excuse themselves from undertaking any missionary work that requires thought and close application of mind; yet often this is the very discipline they need to enable them to perfect Christian experience. They may become workers for God by distributing to their neighbors tracts and papers that correctly represent our faith, and by sending these silent messengers through the mails to those who are willing to read and investigate. As they thus do what they can for others, they will gain many precious experiences.?{PH005 14.3}[42]
My sisters, do not become weary in the distribution of our literature. This is a work you may all engage in successfully, if you are but connected with God. Before approaching your friends and neighbors, or writing letters of inquiry, lift the heart to God in prayer. All who with humble heart take part in this work, will be educating themselves as acceptable workers in the vineyard of the Lord.?{PH005 14.4}[43]
【God Calls You】
Let every sister who claims to be a child of God, feel a responsibility to help all within her reach. The noblest of?all attainments may be gained through practical self-denial and benevolence, for others’ good. Sisters, God calls you to work in the harvest field, and to help gather in the sheaves.?The Review and Herald, December 10, 1914.?{PH005 14.5}[44]
【Training Young Missionaries】
The children should be educated in such a way that they will have sympathy for the aged and afflicted, and lend all the help in their power to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and distressed. They should be taught to be diligent in the missionary work; and from their earliest years, principles of self-denial and sacrifice for the good of others should be inculcated, that they may be laborers together with God.—Testimonies for the Church 6:429.?{PH005 15.1}[45]
【Will You Help[?]】
What is the great work before us?—The proclamation of the gospel, with its life-saving principles, to every nation and kindred and tongue and people. Let no one remain in idleness because he can not do the same class of work that the most experienced of God’s servants are doing. Because you can not be in the highest place, will you do nothing? Because you can not trade upon pounds, will you refuse to trade upon the one pound? Because you have not five talents, will you put your one talent in a napkin and hide it in the earth? Because you can not work for the multitude, will you refuse to work for individuals? Do the smaller duties waiting for you. Thus you will help those who are bearing heavy responsibilities.?{PH005 15.2}[46]
Use your talents, be they ever so few. God has certainly given you a work to do for Him. And in all you do, keep the Lord Jesus ever before you. Do all to the glory of His name. You belong to God, and you must do His work. Your life is sustained by the Giver of life. Your every capability, therefore, is to be put to use in His service. By using your talents faithfully and wisely, you are gaining power to do better work, to bear heavier responsibilities.?{PH005 15.3}[47]
Whatever you accomplish, be it little or much, leave it with God, remembering that it is not left for man to measure the work or the reward of his fellow-men. The Lord Jesus will give you the wages that are your due. Your reward?will be in accordance with the spirit in which your work was done. Purity of motive, and earnest desire to glorify God, will bring to the earnest worker the same reward that comes to the one who accomplishes more. It is the principles by which the worker is governed that determine the reward.—Manuscript 72, 1902{PH005 15.4}[48]
【Recruits from Among the Children and the Uneducated】
God will move upon men in humble positions to declare the message of present truth. Many such will be seen hastening hither and thither, constrained by the Spirit of God to give the light to those in darkness. The truth is as a fire in their bones, filling them with a burning desire to enlighten those who sit in darkness. Many, even among the uneducated, will proclaim the word of the Lord. Children will be impelled by the Holy Spirit to go forth to declare the message of heaven. The Spirit will be poured out upon those who yield to His promptings. Casting off man’s binding rules and cautious movements, they will join the army of the Lord.?Testimonies for the Church 7:26, 27.?{PH005 16.1}[49]
【Daily Opportunities for Seed Sowing】
My brethren and sisters, study your plans; grasp every opportunity of speaking to your neighbors and associates, or of reading something to them from books that contain present truth. Show that you regard as of first importance the salvation of the souls for whom Christ has made so great a sacrifice.?{PH005 16.2}[50]
In working for perishing souls, you have the companionship of angels. Thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand angels are waiting to co-operate with members of our churches in communicating the light that God has generously given, that a people may be prepared for the coming of Christ. “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Let every family seek the Lord in earnest prayer for help to do the work of God.?{PH005 16.3}[51]
Do not pass by the little things, and look for a large work. You might do successfully the small work, but fail utterly in attempting a large work, and fall into discouragement. Take hold wherever you see that there is work to be done. Whether you are rich or poor, great or humble,?God calls you into active service for Him. It will be by doing with your might what your hands find to do that you will develop talent and aptitude for the work. And it is by neglecting your daily opportunities that you become fruitless and withered. This is why there are so many fruitless trees in the garden of the Lord.?{PH005 16.4}[52]
In the home circle, at your neighbor’s fireside, at the bedside of the sick, in a quiet way you may read the Scriptures, and speak a word for Jesus and the truth. Precious seed may thus be sown that will spring up, and bring forth fruit after many days.?Testimonies for the Church 9:129, 130.?{PH005 17.1}[53]
【Benefits of a Thorough Education】
If placed under the control of His Spirit, the more thoroughly the intellect is cultivated, the more effectively it can be used in the service of God. The uneducated man who is consecrated to God and who longs to bless others can be, and is, used by the Lord in His service. But those who, with the same spirit of consecration, have had the benefit of a thorough education, can do a much more extensive work for Christ. They stand on vantage ground.?{PH005 17.2}[54]
The Lord desires us to obtain all the education possible, with the object in view of imparting our knowledge to others. None can know where or how they may be called to labor or to speak for God. Our heavenly Father alone sees what He can make of men. There are before us possibilities which our feeble faith does not discern. Our minds should be so trained that if necessary we can present the truths of His word before the highest earthly authorities in such a way as to glorify His name. We should not let slip even one opportunity of qualifying ourselves intellectually to work for God.?Christ’s Object Lessons, 333, 334.?{PH005 17.3}[55]
【The Lord’s Army】
The Lord will fit men and women—yes, and children, as He did Samuel—for His work, making them His messengers. He who never slumbers or sleeps watches over each worker, choosing his sphere of labor. All heaven is watching the warfare which, under apparently discouraging circumstances, God’s servants are carrying on. New conquests are being achieved, new honors won, as the Lord’s servants, rallying?round the banner of their Redeemer, go forth to fight the good fight of faith. All the heavenly angels are at the service of the humble, believing people of God, and as the Lord’s army of workers here below sing their songs of praise, the choir above joins with them in thanksgiving, ascribing praise to God and His Son.?Testimonies for the Church 7:17.?{PH005 17.4}[56]

This world is a training school for the higher school, this life a preparation for the life to come. Here we are to be prepared for entrance into the heavenly courts.
